Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing multiple environmental programs covering compliance and conservation; providing technical leadership and executive level communication for programs such as air and water quality, hazardous waste, and/or natural resources; and managing the associated budget and personnel for a complex organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Help
- Supervise and provide professional engineering, physical science, and/or natural and cultural resources management services related to investigating, measuring, and evaluating environmental conditions.
- Conduct on-site evaluations of installation programs, and provides professional environmental management consultation.
- Maintain awareness of current and emerging environmental regulations and policies; monitors impact on mission and operations and advises installation commander, senior mission commander and tenant leadership.
- Supervise a staff employees engaged in execution of the full-spectrum of the Army Environmental Program (to include environmental compliance, pollution prevention, installation restoration, and conservation programs).

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.
- Temporary Duty travel (TDY) may be required up to 10%.
- This is a supervisory position and may require a one year supervisory probationary period.
