Job Description

Duties

  • You will serve as the initial reviewer of eligibility for naval service utilizing applicable directives and regulations.
  • You will review enlistment applications and process actions involving complex and unusual procedures.
  • You will review forms, documents and other related information from enlisted applicants and construct initial enlisted service records.
  • You will enter data into automated systems as required.
  • You will retrieve data from various information sources for use in completing the initial service record.
  • You will maintain required forms, records and files pertaining to enlisted applicants.
  • You will prepare correspondence, reports and other documents in draft and final form using word processing software or other automated programs.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience may demonstrate the following: 1) Applying personnel policies, procedures, rules, guidelines, and instructions to support human resources functions; 2) Communicating effectively both orally and in writing to obtain, clarify, and provide information to a variety of audiences; 3) Demonstrating a working knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation sufficient to prepare clear, accurate, and professional written communications.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of four full academic years of education above high school
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
