As an early hire in our engineering team, you will have the unique chance to shape our technical debt-free architecture. Success in this role looks like high-velocity deployments, robust system scalability, and the ability to navigate ambiguity without a manual. There is a clear path to leadership or principal-level architecture roles as we scale, but for now, your primary mission is to build and ship high-quality code. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** * Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend services and APIs from the ground up using modern frameworks. * Take full end-to-end ownership of technical features, from initial architectural design through to deployment and maintenance. * Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks in the infrastructure to ensure 99.9% uptime and high performance. * Manage personal workflow and sprint tasks independently, ensuring deadlines are met without constant supervision. * Implement rigorous automated testing and CI/CD pipelines to maintain code quality in a rapid-deployment environment. * Stay ahead of industry trends to integrate cutting-edge technologies that improve development efficiency and product reliability. * Pivot quickly between different project priorities as dictated by market feedback and startup growth needs. * Document system architectures and technical decisions clearly to facilitate future team scaling. **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** * 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, preferably within a startup or fast-growth environment. * Expertise in backend languages such as Python, Go, or Node.js, and strong familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React/Vue). * Demonstrated experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes). * Proven track record of working independently and delivering complex technical projects under tight deadlines. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** * Previous experience as a founding engineer or early employee at a tech startup. * Strong background in database management and optimization (SQL and NoSQL). * Open-source contributions or a strong portfolio of personal side projects that demonstrate a passion for building. **WORK ENVIRONMENT** We operate in a fully remote capacity, allowing you to work from wherever you are most productive.
