Systems Engineer, Senior, Lead (CSfC Lead)
Location: Quantico, VA (100% On-Site)
Job Summary:
The Senior Systems Engineer, Lead (CSfC Lead) serves as the technical authority for Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) support activities within a Federal Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) environment. This position provides senior-level engineering leadership for the design, integration, operation, and sustainment of CSfC-enabled PKI systems supporting classified communications. The CSfC Lead ensures that all engineering activities comply with DoD/NSS requirements, CSfC Capability Package guidance, and DoD operational and security standards. This role works closely with Government stakeholders, cybersecurity personnel, network operations teams, and PKI operations staff to ensure classified PKI services are secure, resilient, and mission-ready.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Serve as the senior technical lead for CSfC engineering activities supporting DoD service-level PKI operations
· Lead design, integration, and sustainment of CSfC-enabled PKI systems and supporting infrastructure
· Ensure CSfC solutions comply with applicable DoD, NSA, and CSfC Capability Package requirements
· Provide technical oversight and direction to CSfC systems engineers and network operations personnel
· Support Registration Authority (RA) operations within classified CSfC environments
· Coordinate engineering efforts with cybersecurity teams to ensure secure system configurations
· Support system accreditation, inspections, audits, and compliance assessments
· Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues impacting classified PKI systems
· Develop and maintain CSfC engineering documentation, technical procedures, and configuration baselines
· Coordinate closely with Government stakeholders on CSfC technical requirements and system status
· Support Mission Essential Services by ensuring CSfC PKI systems remain available during normal, surge, and contingency operations
Required Qualifications/Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required
· Minimum 8 years of experience supporting systems engineering, PKI, or classified communications environments is required
· Active Federal TOP SECRET Security Clearance with SCI eligibility is required
· Security+ (or equivalent) certification is required
· DoD/NSS PKI Registration Authority Certification is required
· Demonstrated experience supporting:
o DoD/NSS and Only-Locally-Trusted PKI operations and maintenance
o CSfC architecture and engineering implementations
o Classified network and system environments
· Strong technical leadership and problem-solving skills are required
· Ability to communicate complex engineering concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders is required
· Experience coordinating engineering activities across distributed and secure environments is required
