PKI Architect & Compliance Lead, Senior
Location: Quantico, VA (100% On Site)
Job Summary:
The Senior PKI Architect & Compliance Lead provides technical leadership and strategic oversight for the design, implementation, integration, and compliance of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions supporting a Federal DoD Agency. This role serves as the senior technical authority for PKI architecture and compliance, ensuring that all PKI systems and processes align with DoD/NSS policies, operational requirements, and security best practices. The PKI Architect & Compliance Lead works closely with Government stakeholders, cybersecurity teams, network operations, and PKI operations personnel to ensure PKI solutions are secure, scalable, and audit ready throughout their lifecycle.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation planning of PKI solutions supporting DoD missions
• Develop and maintain PKI architectural documentation, technical designs, and implementation plans
• Ensure PKI solutions comply with DoD/NSS PKI policies, standards, and accreditation requirements
• Serve as the primary technical authority for PKI compliance and audit readiness activities
• Support PKI audits, inspections, and compliance assessments and lead corrective action planning
• Coordinate PKI architecture decisions and changes with Government stakeholders
• Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise to PKI operations and engineering teams
• Evaluate emerging PKI technologies and recommend improvements or enhancements
• Support system sustainment, modernization, and technology refresh initiatives
• Ensure PKI implementation efforts align with operational, cybersecurity, and mission requirements
Required Qualifications/Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required
• Minimum 8 years of experience supporting PKI architecture, network engineering, or information security is required
• Active Federal Secret Security Clearance is required
• Security+ (or equivalent) certification is required
• Demonstrated experience with:
o DoD/NSS PKI Registration Authority Workstation Administration
o DoD/NSS PKI RA/LRA Auditor activities
o DISA / PKI Purebred environments
• Strong technical documentation and analysis skills are required
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non technical stakeholders is required
