Job Description
The AI Developer will design, develop, and integrate artificial intelligence solutions in support of ITA's mission through the AI Center of Excellence (AI-CoE). This role emphasizes hands-on development of AI models, data analysis, and the integration of AI capabilities into production systems within a secure federal IT environment. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality AI solutions that directly support mission-driven objectives.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop artificial intelligence models, algorithms, and applications to address mission-driven challenges.
- Preprocess, analyze, and manage large datasets in collaboration with data, engineering, and product teams.
- Implement and maintain machine learning and deep learning frameworks.
- Fine-tune and optimize AI models to improve performance, scalability, and accuracy.
- Integrate AI models into enterprise and cloud-based production systems.
- Document code, models, algorithms, and development processes in accordance with organizational standards.
- Support testing, deployment, and ongoing operations and maintenance of AI solutions.
- Participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies, tools, frameworks, and industry best practices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship (required).
- MUST possess a NACI or higher background investigation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing artificial intelligence or machine learning solutions.
- Proficiency in at least one AI/ML programming framework.
- Experience working with large datasets and applying data preprocessing techniques.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience integrating AI models into enterprise or production systems.
- Experience working in cloud-based AI development environments.
- Knowledge of DevOps and/or MLOps practices.
- Experience supporting federal government or public sector IT programs.
- Familiarity with application security, compliance, and secure development requirements.
- Experience using Azure DevOps or similar delivery management tools.
Work Location
- Remote work preferred, with occasional on-site support in Washington, DC, as required.
