Description:About the Role:
The Solid Rocket Motor (SRM) Product Center Chief Engineer will lead a cross functional Engineering & Technology (E&T) team responsible for the development, test, and fielding of solid rocket motors in the SRM Product Center. This role provides technical and programmatic oversight, ensuring achievement of performance, schedule, and cost commitments for internal and external. The role will report to the Tactical Missiles LOB Chief Engineer and will work closely with the other members of the Chief Engineering staff to ensure synergy across tasks, communicate lessons learned, and ensure cross program collaboration.
What You Will Be Doing
• Providing technical leadership that enables the team to meet and demonstrate all milestones on schedule
• Developing cross platform propulsion strategies, master test plans, and Statements of Work (SOWs) to support hardware build and platform integration.
• Guiding Engineering team, IPT leads and cross-functional teams in program planning, scheduling, trade studies, design concepts, verification, and critical life cycle reviews
• Establishing consortium relationships and external partnerships to accelerate development and improve delivery speed.
• Transition successful development efforts into the production phase, maintaining technical oversight and continuous improvement.
• Collaborating with Engineering Excellence management to ensure program milestones are successfully completed and program staffing is appropriate from an E&T perspective
• Supporting and leading technical reviews and participating in monthly E&T meetings, staff meetings, and other critical program activities
• Work closely with the broader Chief Engineer staff to ensure program synergy, capture new business opportunities, and deliver mission-critical solid-rocket motor solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Be a strategic engineering lead for SRM Product Center growth and maturation as a OneLM team. Work closely with the Program Office.
• Develop lab capability, capital plans with Production Operations, and support the Troy Energetics Lab
• Work closely with the Chief Technologist to ensure Technology roadmap execution
• Lead or support customer briefings, weekly IPT status updates, Technical Interchange Meetings, Technical Readiness Reviews, and other critical program reviews
• Participate or lead Failure Review Boards, technical Risk Management, and Mission Success Reviews
Requirements:
• Ability to actively manage a broad range of technical and programmatic activities including propulsion systems, modeling and simulation, materials and airframes, system test, safety, and post-fielding technical support to the user community.
• Proven technical leadership delivering major proposal efforts and steering complex solid rocket motor programs to successful production.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams through all development stages (SRR, PDR, CDR, qualification, system verification & test and production transition).
• Full Spectrum Leadership experience demonstrated in prior assignments.
• Strong collaboration skills to establish consortium/partner relationships that accelerate development.

Further Information About This Opportunity:
This position can be located in either Grand Prairie, TX or Orlando, FL, and will require up to 50% domestic travel. The position will require on-site work with the ability to flex working hours.
Basic Qualifications:
• Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university, with existing professional experience
• Experience and demonstrated skillset with Solid Rocket Motor design, development and testing
• Must possess ability to plan and lead the technical teams/efforts associated with complex Missile Systems
• Ability to communicate technical status and issues internally to program leadership, technical leadership and functional leadership as well as externally to the USG customer
• Must be available for occasional domestic travel
• Active Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
• An advanced degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is desired
• Prior experience at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is highly desired
• Cross Business Area experience is highly desired
• Candidate should have wide experience/familiarity in collaborating with the Engineering & Technology functional organization
• Ability to interface with the USG Customer office and global supply base
• Ability to support technical reviews internally, with the customer, and external stakeholders, and at supplier locations
• Experience in leading Failure Analysis and Failure Review Boards
