Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Embedded Software Architect to support our client in San Diego, CA . The Embedded Software Architect will lead the design and development of high-speed embedded software architectures, working closely with a lead engineer to define interfaces and drivers across CPU, GPU, and FPGA components in a Linux-based environment.
Responsibilities of the Embedded Software Architect include:
· Design and define embedded software architecture across CPU, GPU, and FPGA components
· Develop and optimize Linux kernel and user-space drivers on RHEL 9
· Architect high-speed data paths using PCIe 4.0, DMA, shared memory, and zero-copy techniques
· Define APIs and interfaces between kernel drivers, user applications, GPU software, and FPGA logic
· Design software interfaces for Ethernet, PCIe, GPIO, and serial communications
· Integrate ARM/FPGA software drivers with programmable fabric via AMBA interfaces
· Support system-level integration of processor software with off-board FPGA and RF transceivers
Qualifications for the Embedded Software Architect include:
· 15+ years of professional experience in embedded software engineering
· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, Masters degree preferred
· Active or eligible Secret clearance
· Strong background in high-speed embedded system architectures
· Expertise in Linux kernel and user-space driver development and optimization
· Experience with DMA, shared memory, scratchpad memory, and OS scheduling
Compensation for the Embedded Software Architect includes:
· Salary Range: $150,000-$200,000 depending on experience
