We are seeking a highly organized, detail‑oriented Cyber Security Project Manager to join the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Program Management Office (PMO) Team. This role blends project coordination, operational support, and data‑driven analysis to help guide program execution and improve decision‑making across a large, complex cybersecurity environment.

The ideal candidate brings foundational project management expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights. They are comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, partnering with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, and contributing to continuous improvement across program operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and support full lifecycle coordination of cybersecurity and PMO activities, ensuring alignment with program goals, customer expectations, and federal security requirements
  • Support the protection of information systems and data by coordinating cybersecurity operations, risk management, and compliance activities
  • Develop and maintain project artifacts including security-related schedules, dashboards, reports, and status summaries
  • Define and track project scope, milestones, and deliverables; monitor progress and identify cybersecurity risks, vulnerabilities, and deviations
  • Conduct data analysis to support program reporting, cybersecurity performance measurement, and risk posture assessment
  • Build and maintain routine reporting documentation (weekly, monthly, and ad hoc), leveraging standardized templates and best practices
  • Manage stakeholder communications and present updates to leadership, clients, and cybersecurity stakeholders
  • Identify, assess, and help mitigate cybersecurity risks, issues, and dependencies in coordination with technical teams
  • Provide day-to-day coordination and support to project and cybersecurity team members, ensuring clarity of tasks and priorities
  • Drive process improvements across cybersecurity and PMO workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather data, validate requirements, and support secure program execution
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, federal cybersecurity standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA), and industry best practices
  • Support security authorization activities (e.g., RMF, ATO) and continuous monitoring efforts, as applicable
  • Support the Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager with strategic, operational, and analytical tasks
  • Attend client meetings, capture action items and minutes, document technical follow-ups, contribute to the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and communicate with stakeholders as needed


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4-8 years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity operations, risk management, or compliance programs within enterprise IT environments
  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST RMF, FISMA, or related standards
  • Hands-on experience applying Agile, Scrum, or other modern project management methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience working with data to support security or program reporting and decision-making
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to clarity and detail
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong organizational and time-management capabilities, with the ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance


Preferred Qualifications

  • Background supporting government contracting, defense, or federal/state environments
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CISSP, CISM, or other relevant credentials
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity programs in federal IT environments
  • Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Maestro, or similar platforms
  • Experience developing dashboards, metrics, or data visualizations using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity operations, risk management, or compliance activities

Pay Range: Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
