Job Description

Description

LEIDOS has an immediate need for a qualified Hardware Configuration Manager to support the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) Information Technology Services (CITS) contract. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team responsible for providing an innovative and modernized IT life-cycle management system for USCENTCOM. This role is critical for providing robust configuration, change, and asset management services to maintain configuration standards, control changes, and meticulously track all IT equipment and hardware across the enterprise.

We are seeking a proactive and meticulous champion for process improvement who excels at investigating and resolving discrepancies. This is not a role for a passive operator; we need a professional with a strong sense of ownership and an investigative mindset. The ideal candidate is a detective, driven to uncover the root cause of complex issues, tenaciously tracking them to resolution, and documenting every step. You must possess the professional courage to identify and address non-compliant hardware. The ideal candidate will guide teams by referencing established standards and objective quality evidence and will report unresolved compliance issues to leadership when necessary.

Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities:
  • Govern the hardware configuration portions of the Configuration Management Plan (CMP) and control the Approved Products List (APL).
  • Navigate and operate within the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and related hardware processes, contributing to continual service improvement and process optimization.
  • Enforce compliance with the CMP for all network device configurations during change and demand requests.
  • Coordinate with the CMDB team to audit the database, ensure data integrity, and fine-tune ServiceNow discovery rules to improve data accuracy.
  • Provide technical analysis and recommendations on hardware obsolescence to support program management and budgetary forecasting led by Program Management.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and accurate inventory of all hardware Configuration Items (CIs) across both continental US (CONUS) and outside continental US (OCONUS) networks, ensuring complete visibility for tracking, database relationships, and management purposes.
  • Evaluate all hardware change requests for validity, risk, and mission impact.

Additional Duties:
  • Track the hardware testing process with Lab and Cyber teams driving testing checklists, ensuring teams remain on schedule and investigating any delays.
  • Serve as the final Quality Assurance (QA) checkpoint to ensure all required documentation for hardware testing is complete and accurate prior to approval.
  • Analyze change and configuration-related tasks to identify root causes for Service Level Agreements (SLA) breaches and recommend process improvements.
  • Track procured products to facilitate testing and evaluation for their addition to the APL.
  • Support the Technical Review Board (TRB) and Change Control Board (CCB) meetings as required.
  • Develop and maintain Service Transition team metric dashboards in ServiceNow enabling enhanced reporting capabilities.
  • Create, develop, and maintain Knowledge Articles for all aspects of hardware configuration items.
  • Maintain and update build documentation within the ServiceNow Change Request ticket for all service and configuration items.

Qualifications:
  • Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Direct experience with the ServiceNow platform, particularly the CMDB, Change Management modules, and Hardware Asset Management module.
  • Moderate proficiency with MS Excel, including functions for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience and education requirements (one of the following):
  • Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Associate's degree with 9+ years of relevant experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in creating and maintaining Configuration Management Plans and ensuring adherence to established standards.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.

Desired
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Hardware Asset Management (CIS-HAM).
  • ITIL Foundation Certification.
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification.
  • ITIL 4 Specialist: Create, Deliver and Support, or another ITIL 4 Managing Professional certification.
  • Prior experience supporting USCENTCOM, other Combatant Commands (COCOM), or DoD entities.
