Job Description
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Engineer to join our team in Herndon, VA. This is a remote position. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of client engagement experts, AI engineers and data scientists to provide sophisticated AI-Assisted planning tools for a Government client. The ideal candidate will have deep data engineering skills and experience, and a customer-oriented approach to applying technology to complex problems.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Design and implement robust data pipelines to ingest, transform, and integrate data from various systems and networks, ensuring seamless data flow.
- Collaborate with cloud and system architects to establish secure and efficient data transfer protocols among different networks and systems.
- Develop and enforce data quality standards, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of integrated data.
- Work closely with data scientists, architects, and other stakeholders to understand their data requirements and provide the necessary data in a usable format for AI and machine learning.
- Architect data pipelines and data storage solutions to support agentic workflows.
- Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant data security policies and practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4 or more years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with data pipelining tools like NiFi or AWS Glue.
- Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
- Experience with cloud services from providers such as AWS or Oracle and their data storage and processing services. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or SQL.
- Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and big data technologies. Experience developing and implementing records management policies and procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with data security and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST framework).
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Developer, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Experience with agile development methodologies
- Familiarity with Agentic AI systems and knowledge of data governance
- Secret clearance preferred

- Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
- Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
