Duties
Help
  • You will establish processes and guidelines that ensure that the supportability analyses performed are logical, analytical, repeatable and auditable, and result in successful identification of maintenance requirements and support alternatives.
  • You will ensure compliance with environmental regulations associated with supportability and logistics in the acquisition of aircraft, aircraft systems, and weapon systems.
  • You will develop maintenance concepts and plans that support the applicable program's life cycle goals.
  • You will develop common processes, procedures, and tools for planning, implementing, and sustaining costwise readiness improvement initiatives.
  • You will facilitate organizational, intermediate, and depot level review through tracking and reporting on the status of readiness goals and objectives.
  • You will assist the Program Manager in using metrics to measure readiness of assigned programs and systems to define the most efficient use of available resources, and develop an integrated sustainment budget for cost-wise readiness of these systems.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Developing and implementing product support and maintenance concepts/requirements for assigned systems to achieve program goals and objectives with minimum life cycle cost; 2) Identifying, planning, and executing logistics efforts to ensure all aspects of the total systems life cycle (i.e. acquisition and sustainment) are in place to meet program requirements; 3) Participating in risk management processes and early identification of system integration risks; 4) Managing technical directives and ship change documents; 5) Developing and reviewing program, technical, and mission documentation to also provide authoritative input and direction on all logistics/maintenance issues and requirements; 6) Participating in the Configuration Management Process by developing, reviewing and submitting all associated documentation in support of Engineering Change Proposals, Configuration Control Board (CCB) Presentations, and Technical Directives; 7) Participating in the design and development of new systems by assessing the supportability and maintainability of proposed systems and technology applications; 8) Preparing and/or delivering presentations to customers/stakeholders in order to address support posture and justify logistics requirements/implementation; and 9) Assisting in the development and management of contract requirements (i.e. statements of work and contract data requirements) to support systems engineering/acquisition phases.
