Responsibilities
The individual selected for this position will provide systems/network engineering support to a program that seeks to adopt a phased approach to building infrastructure needed for the deep inspection of AI systems and analysis of large-scale AI models. The selected candidate will be expected to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to review and provide feedback on proposed architecture designs, performance optimization, reliability, and security requirements. The individual selected for this position will provide systems/network engineering support to a program that seeks to adopt a phased approach to building infrastructure needed for the deep inspection of AI systems and analysis of large-scale AI models. The selected candidate will be expected to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to review and provide feedback on proposed architecture designs, performance optimization, reliability, and security requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Review and provide optimized network design and architecture diagrams
- Coordinate with cloud service providers such as AWS and/or Oracle
- Deploy industry best practices for securing cloud environments
- Collaborate with project leads and vendors to ensure system design meets Sponsor's requirements
- Architect and deploy network infrastructure for distributed AI systems
- Design systems that support large-scale model analysis and experimentation
- Build infrastructure to enable controlled experiments on LLM behavior
- Collaborate with researchers to adapt systems to evolving needs
Qualifications
- Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline
- BS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7
- Knowledge of theory and practice underlying LAN/WAN network operations
- Knowledge of communications and information security policies and practices
- Knowledge of multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the Sponsor's policies and procedures relating to design, upgrading, operating, and maintaining their networks
- Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals
- Experience designing and managing high-performance, low-latency networks
- Experience with Linux systems administration and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Knowledge of network security principles
- Experience supporting machine learning workloads
- Exposure to systems analysis or reverse engineering workflows
