Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Aerospace Engineer to support the design, integration, and sustainment of the SABIR system, with a strong emphasis on airworthiness and structural analysis.
This is a high-impact role working across engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams, with opportunities for hands-on design, analysis, and global field support.
What You’ll Do
• Lead and support the design of airworthy, weight-optimized structural components and assemblies
• Perform structural and fatigue analysis on primary and secondary aircraft structures
• Develop 3D CAD models and detailed drawings, supporting manufacturing and assembly
• Create and approve engineering documentation (drawings, substantiation reports, etc.)
• Provide technical solutions from concept through production
• Investigate hardware issues and support manufacturing/shop floor questions
• Participate in and present at internal and customer design reviews
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
• Support installation, testing, and training globally (travel required)
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering (or related field)
• 10–20 years of aerospace design experience with project ownership
• Strong experience with classical hand stress analysis (5–10 years)
• Expertise in aircraft structural analysis (MMPDS, Bruhn, Roark, fasteners, sheet metal, machined parts)
• Experience with FEA and NASTRAN modeling
• Knowledge of FAA and/or military airworthiness & certification requirements
• Experience with structural testing (static, vibration, shock, modal, etc.)
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with SOLIDWORKS and ASME Y14.100 drafting standards
• Advanced experience with NASTRAN / FEMAP and detailed FEA methods
• Experience with composites, laminates, and honeycomb structures
• Background in fracture mechanics
• Experience with avionics, sensors (RF/optical/radar), or complex systems
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, finishing, prototyping)
• Experience with test instrumentation and data analysis
