Our client seeks a Storage Engineer focused on IPv6 to administer, maintain, and support storage systems in an IPv6-enabled environment. The role will configure and manage SAN and NAS platforms, oversee backup and recovery, and monitor capacity and performance to ensure availability and security. The engineer will enable and troubleshoot IPv6 connectivity for storage technologies and support routine provisioning and data migration.
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities:
- Set up, configure, and administer storage systems including SAN, NAS, and direct attached storage.
- Perform day-to-day SAN administration, maintenance, configuration, and deployments.
- Provision storage, including volume creation, LUN provisioning, and data migration.
- Implement and manage backup solutions and execute regular backup and recovery procedures.
- Monitor storage capacity, health, and performance metrics and remediate bottlenecks.
- Configure storage technologies to communicate over IPv6 in addition to IPv4.
- Provide daily operational support for the storage environment and backups.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience providing storage solutions engineering support, including management, administration, and maintenance of SAN and NAS environments.
- Experience administering storage area networks with EMC and NetApp systems and enterprise backup platforms.
- Experience with storage cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to monitor storage capacity, health, and performance metrics.
- Ability to perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures.
- Strong knowledge of IPv6 networking, addressing, routing, subnetting, design, and troubleshooting (preferred).
Education Requirements:
- EMC Certified Storage Administrator or NetApp Certified Data Administrator, or equivalent certification.
