Job Description

Job Summary:

As AFSO, you will assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in ensuring MI Technical Solution's (MITS) Industrial Security Program compliance with DoD and company security policies to include establishing, maintaining, following, and documenting proper procedures or guidelines through administrative work and other tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process incoming and outgoing visit requests.
  • Process country clearances and conduct foreign travel briefings and debriefings.
  • Assists with enforcing security policies and procedures outlining requirements for safeguarding, and destruction of classified material.
  • Process document control requests for incoming and outgoing classified material.
  • Maintain the classified inventory register.
  • Manage safe and combination changes.
  • Oversee company CUI processes and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for areas of responsibility.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Obtain necessary accounts to perform required tasks.
  • Assist with annual self-inspections.
  • Crosstrain in other security areas, to include AFSO1 primary responsibilities.
  • Perform other functions and duties as required.


Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or 5 years of experience working with Navy personnel security systems and Navy databases; 2 years as a qualified Facility Security Officer (FSO)
  • 3+ years of experience working with Corporate Executives including the following: provide status updates, ensure compliance with NISPOM requirements and provide guidance on security related questions or concerns

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
  • Have a working knowledge with DoD security related systems (i.e., DISS, NBIS, SWFT, etc.) is a plus.

  • Detail oriented professional able to maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Above average experience with Microsoft Office 365 (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Desired familiarity with Navy organizational structure.

  • Work may involve sitting for extended periods.
  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.
  • Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of industrial/commercial facilities where necessary.
  • Ability to adjust work schedule during peak times.
  • Travel may be required, as needed.
