Description

CPT is seeking a Configuration Manager V to support the Gun Weapon Systems Division (E30) at NSWC Dahlgren. This role directly supports U.S. Navy gun weapon system development, evaluation, and sustainment programs in a collaborative, mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as senior CM authority for E30 Gun Weapon Systems programs, providing expert guidance on all configuration management matters.
  • Oversee development and implementation of CM plans, procedures, and standards across the program portfolio.
  • Lead and manage formal Change Control Board processes for complex configuration changes, ECPs, SCNs, SCDs, Deviations, and Waivers.
  • Provide expert-level impact assessments and recommendations to government program leadership on configuration change proposals.
  • Lead configuration audits and baseline reviews; advise on corrective actions and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Interface directly with senior government stakeholders on CM status, issues, and strategic decisions.
  • Develop CM training and standards, mentoring all levels of CM staff across the program.


Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience, including extensive specialized experience in configuration management.
  • Expert-level knowledge of CM principles, DoD standards, and acquisition lifecycle CM requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading CM organizations and serving as a senior CM advisor to government leadership.
  • History of successfully managing Change Control Boards for complex, multi-baseline defense programs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Active Secret clearance required.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Extensive experience supporting CM for Navy Gun Weapon Systems or major DoD acquisition programs.
  • Deep familiarity with MIL-HDBK-61 and related standards across the program lifecycle.
  • Experience establishing or restructuring CM programs for complex naval systems.
