IPTA is looking for great talented people to support the work at the Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC). AvMC is the Army's focal point for providing research, development and engineering technology and services for aviation and missile platforms across the life cycle. AvMC's mission is to "deliver collaborative and innovative aviation and missile capabilities for responsive and cost-effective research, development, and life cycle engineering solutions" to equip the Warfighter with the best technology today and tomorrow.

The Audio/Video Technician is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining audio-visual systems in various environments and multiple classifications, including offices, conference rooms, collaboration rooms, auditoriums, and Operations Centers. The technician is responsible for ensuring that sound and video systems function seamlessly, providing high-quality communication, collaboration, situational awareness, and presentation experiences to system users. The technician is responsible for ensuring installations meet DISA and ARMY cybersecurity requirements for use in multiple classifications. The technician may provide support to Audio/Video designers and control system programmers during project planning and installation.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists in designing customized audio-visual systems tailored to specific environment needs
  • Provide audio/video support to users in offices, collaboration rooms, conference rooms and auditoriums including responding to service requests
  • Integrate microphones, speakers, displays, video conferencing cameras, and control systems
  • Ensure compatibility with existing IT infrastructure and networking systems
  • Assists in developing installation documentation including schematics, installation drawings, implementation plans, project schedules and user guides
  • Completes equipment installation and setup, including mounting displays, projectors, and video walls for presentations and video conferencing
  • Position microphones and speakers for optimal audio clarity
  • Configure video conferencing systems and integrate into the network
  • Install cables to link all components
  • Work closely with the Audio/Video System Control (Automation) Programmer to develop and test controls for installed systems
  • Configure digital signal processing equipment to provide audio mixing and equalization to ensure balanced sound
  • Configure video scalers, extenders, encoders, decoders, cameras and displays to maximize visual quality
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with sound distortion, connectivity problems, or system failures
  • Update firmware and software to keep devices secure and functional
  • Replace faulty components and ensure smooth system operation


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • Certification from Extron, AMX, or Crestron a plus
  • Experience in control system programming is a plus
  • Eight (8) years of prior experience in a similar role
  • DoD 8570 Level II/III certification desired
  • Active Security Clearance Required
