Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a Computer Engineer position. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse and high-performing team dedicated to mission success.
The Computer Engineer will support Navy C4I programs by designing, developing, testing, and maintaining complex computer hardware, software, and networked systems supporting shipboard combat, navigation, and control systems. As a mid-level specialist, the engineer will collaborate closely with cybersecurity teams to secure naval platforms and enhance system resilience. The role involves applying programming expertise in languages such as Java, Python, and C++ to improve system performance and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities
The Computer Engineer will:
- Design, develop, and test computer hardware and software supporting combat systems, propulsion, navigation, and shipboard networks
- Develop, debug, and maintain code for operating systems, network distribution, and system algorithms
- Support the installation, maintenance, and modernization of hardware and software systems, including work at Naval Surface Warfare Centers (NSWC)
- Analyze user requirements, troubleshoot technical issues, and enhance security protocols for mission-critical systems
- Prepare technical documentation, analyze system data, and present progress reports to management
Requirements
Skills and Experience
The Computer Engineer must have:
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
- 3+ years of experience in computer engineering, software development, or network systems
- Experience supporting Navy programs
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and effectively within a team environment
Education and Certifications
The Computer Engineer must have the following:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science
