Job Description

​​We are seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Administrator/Engineer with expertise in both Windows Server and Red Hat Linux Enterprise environments. This individual will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and implementing solutions to optimize critical infrastructure operations. The successful candidate will manage and support key systems including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, HBSS, ACAS, JIRA, and SAN servers. The ideal candidate will possess a well-rounded skill set, demonstrating strong hands-on experience with system administration, cross-platform management, security technologies, and the ability to solve complex hardware/software interface problems to ensure total system integration.​

What You'll Do:

​​Windows & Linux Administration:
  • ​Administer and maintain Windows Server (2019/2022) and Red Hat Linux Enterprise environments, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
  • Manage Windows services (DNS, DHCP, WINS, DFS, ADFS, PKI, GPOs) and Active Directory (AD), including user accounts, group policies, and domain controllers.
  • Oversee Microsoft Exchange Server environments, including setup, configuration, and maintenance of mailboxes and security policies.
  • ​Deploy and manage IIS and SQL databases to support Windows Server features.

​Security & Compliance:
  • ​Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Host-Based Security System (HBSS) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) for vulnerability scanning and compliance.
  • Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and ensure adherence to risk management processes.
  • Manage system logs for security and event management (SIEM).

​Infrastructure & Operations:
  • ​Manage and maintain Storage Area Networks (SAN), including NFS and CIFS protocols, ensuring data availability, backup, and recovery.
  • ​Configure and manage JIRA systems for IT project management and incident tracking.
  • Perform system monitoring, patch management (SCCM/WSUS), and configuration management to ensure system integrity.
  • ​Develop automation scripts using PowerShell to improve and automate the deployment of environments.

​Support & Collaboration:
  • ​Provide Tier 2/3 support for complex system problems across both Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Analyze and communicate complex technical challenges to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work closely with other IT teams (network, security, applications) to ensure seamless service delivery.​

Required Experience:
  • ​​Proven experience managing Windows Server (2019/2022), Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange.
  • Proven experience with Red Hat Linux Enterprise system administration.
  • ​Demonstrated knowledge of the DISA Risk Management Framework and the US Navy RMF Process Guide.
  • Experience with security tools such as HBSS and ACAS for vulnerability scanning and remediation.
  • Familiarity with SAN technologies, storage management, and JIRA administration.
  • Knowledge of computer networking concepts, protocols, and cloud computing models (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities.​

Required Qualifications:
  • Active SECRET security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree and five or more years of experience in an IT-related field.
  • Must be DoD 8570.1M IAT-II certified (e.g., CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP).​
