Description:
You will be the Director Program Management - Special Programs for the Special Programs Area. Our team is responsible for conceptual development and demonstration of next-generation technology and products.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Director of Program Management - Special Programs, you will lead the Special Programs Area chartered with conceptual development and demonstration of next-generation technology and products. The successful applicant will initiate and maintain relationships with government labs, developing prototypes and capability demonstrations, and positioning the company for successful strategic captures that transition to future franchise programs for MFC over the next 3-10 years. The successful candidate also owns Profit and Loss for Special Programs and must deliver against Orders, Sales, EBIT, and Cash commitments annually
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Technical and business strategy coordination of multi-disciplinary teams engaged in IR&D, contract, capital, and overhead projects. He/she will translate strategic company goals into guidance to R&D engineers and staff, aligning tasks with the company's Strategic Road Maps and Technology Investment Roadmaps. Work will be reviewed in terms of meeting the program's objectives, schedules, and financial goals.
The successful candidate will manage and ensure a secure environment to support classified SAP and SCI programs from the secret to top secret security levels.
The successful candidate will ensure success against aggressive schedules while maintaining a technology development environment that demonstrates innovation, efficient resource utilization, effective decision making, and systems integration in order to meet demonstration schedules and overall cost performance. The successful candidate will be required to oversee development activities from basic research to hardware/software demonstrations, to technology transitions into an internal MFC Line of Business (LOB) or external Business Area (BA).
The successful candidate requires extensive interface with the external customer and the internal business management team. Demonstrating success in creating and winning R&D programs from DARPA and/or Government Laboratories is a must.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Top Secret clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications:
-Undergraduate degree in technical discipline such as Engineering, Math or Science
-Existing relationships with government and military labs, and key decision makers therein
-Demonstrated experience and success in understanding, developing, and capturing R&D business with DARPA, DoD research labs, and other government R&D agencies
-Program and/or Capture Management training and experience, preferably with P&L accountability
-Significant prior leadership experience and demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplined team
-Development experience with complex Defense and Security systems
-Excellent communication and presentation skills
-Track record of exceptional performance against challenging goals in relevant assignments
-Active Top Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
-Advanced degree in technical discipline; PhD preferred
-Comprehensive knowledge of Missiles & Fire Control products and strategic direction-Proposal writing and development experience
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
