The Operations Directorate (TCJ3) directs and synchronizes the Defense Transportation System with national distribution processes to meet national security objectives. It maintains command and control of strategic forces and logistics infrastructure. The Deputy Director assists the Director and provides executive leadership and direction for all TCJ3 operational portfolios of Current Operations, Global Capacity, Mobility Requirements, Operations Sustainment, Mission Assurance, Special Activities, Joint Readiness, Military Operations Integration, Military Secretariat, Courier Division, the Command Liaison Officer Corps as well as the Joint Operational Support Airlift Center. As the senior executive civilian within TCJ3, the incumbent coordinates operational issues with key leaders and personnel within the Department of War, to include the Office of the Secretary of War, Joint Staff, Service Staffs, other Combatant Commands, and various national agencies in support USTRANSCOM's role as the Joint Distribution and Deployment Coordinator. The effort of this position impacts all areas of Joint and Military Service Force movement, sustainment, and retrograde operations during peace and war.

A. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS (TQs): Applicants must reflect superior technical qualifications demonstrated through leadership and management. A separate narrative statement is not required--this information should be embedded within the resume.Expert/experiential knowledge of DoW logistics enterprise, DoW supply chain process, general business supply chain practices, Joint Capability Integration and Development Systems analysis process, and a broad and thorough knowledge of deployment and distribution systems used across the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise. Demonstrated success in leading large complex strategic global Operations across the domains of air, land, sea, space and cyber, including establishing policies and procedures, requirements validation, resource allocation, balancing managerial, technical and functional considerations, and directing operational support and assessment while sustaining successful engagement and alignment with inter/intra-agency partners. Tiering: The Department of the Air Force structures its SES positions into tiers to determine the pay range for each position. The categories are based on the position scope, breadth, functions, and placement within the structure of organizational levels across the Department.
Salary: $186,207.00 - $209,600.00 per annum. (DAF Tier 1) SES members are eligible for bonuses and/or ranks and stipends in addition to annual salary. SES members are eligible for Performance-Based Salary increases and/or bonuses.

- Drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use IAW Exec. Order 12564, dated 14 Sep 86. Position requires that the incumbent sign a Drug Testing letter and pass urinalysis testing prior to appointment.
- Position requires travel under conditions specified in the DoW Joint Travel Regulations. Incumbent is expected to travel on short notice to attend high-level meetings.
- Position may require incumbent to be available for other than normal duty hours to include weekends to support exercises and crisis planning.
- An initial SES career appointment becomes final only after the individual successfully completes a 1-year probationary period.
- Attendance to the Air Force's Senior Leader Orientation Course (SLOC) is generally required within 12 months of appointment, subject to course availability.
