Overview
The Nakupuna Companies are seeking a part-time Communications Analyst to analyze, develop, and help implement effective communication strategies and methods that will enhance early learning and engagement with new hires, from offer acceptance through the first 90 days of employment. Through the review of current new hire and onboarding content, presentation formats and distribution channels, this position will work as part of a cross-functional team to support Nakupuna's strategic goals to establish trust with employees and foster confident, well-informed employees through effective delivery of essential information during the early phase of employment.
As an enterprise with more than 1,300 employees and growing, the Nakupuna Companies require a skillful communicator with an understanding of curriculum design for adult learners. This position requires an analytical approach to communications, creativity to ideate solutions, and critical thinking to evaluate options.

This position is under the Strategic Communications team and works cross-functionally with departments within Nakupuna Companies, primarily Human Resources (HR), to achieve organizational goals. To effectively perform this function, the following are required:
Education and Experience: This position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and at least 3 years of teaching and curriculum design experience. Professional experience creating communications and marketing content is preferred. Training on the integration and application of artificial intelligence (AI) tools for corporate communications is preferred.

- Analyze new employee communications from the point a candidate accepts a Nakupuna offer through the onboarding phase
- Map all touchpoints an employee has with someone from Nakupuna, regardless of whether the purpose of communication is employment forms, IT setup, supervisor welcome, etc
- Help articulate a Nakupuna-specific organizational philosophy and objectives around the new hire period and onboarding process based on stakeholder inputs
- Assess information communicated to new employees for effectiveness, clarity, and completeness. Explore hypothesized differences of the new employee experience based on different characteristics, such as work location (Nakupuna site or client site); geographic location (collocated with a Nakupuna office or remote); department (Shared Services or Line of Business); onboarding format (in person or virtual); industry experience (new to government contracting or not); and work experience (years formally employed)
- Assess strength of delivery format and length for alignment with the latest research on adult teaching and learning practices
- Assess communications style for strength of alignment with Nakupuna's brand and corporate voice
- Review new employee feedback if available and relevant to the overall project objectives
- Develop recommendations on findings and seek feedback from internal stakeholders
- Present collected information and insights to a team of internal stakeholders using Powerpoint, process flowcharts, and/or other documentation
- Work closely with other Nakupuna departments to maximize effectiveness of new hire materials and to achieve intended outcomes
- Write and/or proofread existing and new materials based on leadership decisions
- Collaborate with graphic designers to develop or update materials for new employees
- Attend virtual meetings or presentations outside of normal business hours (local time) due to geographic dispersion of team members across multiple time zones
- Perform other communications tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications:

- Superior written and oral communication skills and comfort adapting styles for internal organizational audiences
- Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and Teams as primary employee communication platforms as well as PowerPoint for presentations and Canva for other corporate materials
- Ability to utilize data and tools for planning, analysis, and performance of duties
- Self-driven to work with high-level guidance in a fast-paced setting under tight deadlines, with strong project and time management skills
- Strong presentation skills to keep Nakupuna executives and senior leadership informed, prepared, and ready to engage in a thoughtful and timely fashion
- Strong team- and relationship building skills to motivate and generate progress towards joint outcomes
- Thought leadership and willingness to explore options that are creative, interesting, and a good fit for the organizational culture
- Agility in adapting plans to address emergent needs based on analysis of alternatives, costs and benefits, and time sensitivity
