Work spans the full lifecycle of advanced autonomy systems—from concept development through design, integration, field testing, and transition into operational environments across defense and intelligence domains.
Position Description
In this role, you will contribute to navigation and estimation efforts supporting autonomous systems across sea, ground, and air domains.
Projects often involve GPS-denied environments, leveraging alternative sensing modalities such as:
Magnetic
Vision-based
Radio frequency systems
You will work on single-agent and multi-agent systems, contributing to both research and applied engineering efforts.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing and implementing state estimation and navigation algorithms
Supporting development across the full lifecycle (concept ? field testing)
Contributing to system integration and real-world deployment
Collaborating with cross-functional teams across software, hardware, and research
Exploring and prototyping advanced approaches, with opportunities for publishable research
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree + 3 years of experience OR Bachelor’s + 5 years of experience in:
Engineering
Computer Science
Robotics or related field
Hands-on experience with:
Autonomous or uncrewed systems
Feedback control (robust, optimal, or adaptive)
State estimation (Kalman filters, particle filters, SLAM, factor graphs)
Strong programming skills:
C++ (required)
Linux environment
Ability to:
Write clean, maintainable, well-structured code
Communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
ROS and/or Python
GPS-denied navigation systems
Machine learning applications in autonomy
Computer vision algorithms and hardware
Real-time systems / RTOS
Experience in defense, robotics, or advanced R&D environments
Additional Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret DoD security clearance
