Northrop Grumman Space Sector is looking for you to join our team as a Staff Agile Product Owner for a software product team Onsite in Colorado Springs, CO

The Northrop Grumman Space Sector is a strategic partner specializing in commercial and classified partnerships with the design, delivery, operation and sustainment of satellites and human spacecraft. We support science and space exploration through our various partnerships, including NASA's Artemis program with the goal to return humans to the Moon and the TESS (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite) program that has discovered more than twenty confirmed plants. Recognized as an industry leader, we also develop highly specialized space and satellite components.

Job Description:
  • Serve as the Product Owner of a software development team
  • Serve as the CAM, keep budget updated, manage staffing plan
  • Regular briefing to Sector and Division Leadership
  • Be responsible for driving value delivery for a ground control software solution for satellite systems
  • Specify stakeholders need to drive the frequent delivery of value to the customer
  • Coordinate and prioritize the needs for multiple stakeholders across multiple products
  • Manage stakeholder expectations
  • Work with the stakeholders to plan and execute product releases
  • Own the integrated Product Roadmap, defining the priorities of software capabilities consistent with stakeholder mission needs
  • Iterate Product Roadmap with the stakeholder to address evolving priorities
  • Decompose stakeholders' needs to create, refine, and prioritize the product backlog; support all aspects of backlog refinement and story mapping
  • Support preparation and presentation of briefings and demonstrations to stakeholders
  • Support the accomplishment of Earned Value (EV) Management for multiple customers, by working closely with the Cost Account Managers (CAMs) providing the supporting information to assess EV performance
  • Drive performance of the Agile team to accomplish sprint and release commitments, escalate and remove impediments, and participate in status and progress reporting to senior management
  • Engage in Program Increment (PI) Planning Activities; ensure PI objectives reflect customer priorities and business value, identify risks and dependencies for the Scrum Team and across the program


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree plus 12 years of experience, or a master's with 10 years of experience
  • SAFe and/or Product Owner Experience
  • Agile experience is required
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active Top Secret and ability to obtain and maintain SCI access at time of application


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Atlassian Tool suite
  • 1+ years of CAM experience
  • SAFE Certification, SAFE PO/PM Certification, Product Owner Certification
  • Current SCI clearance
  • Experience in the Space Industry
  • Demonstrated experience in technical problem solving and earned value management
  • Mission Planning Experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently, and possess the poise and flexibility required to work in a highly dynamic environment


Primary Level Salary Range: $161,000.00 - $241,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
