Job Description
Candidate will provide acquisition and program management support to complex and critical programs within USSOCOM AT&L. They will leverage their military and government acquisition experience as a contractor, applying their defense acquisition lifecycle experiences, from requirements generation to fielding and sustainment. Expertise in managing complex programs and budgets within the DoD will be invaluable.
SkillBridge internships are for Active-Duty U.S. Military members only.
As a SkillBridge Acquisition & Program Manager with MTSI, you will interact daily with USSOCOM senior leaders, program managers and industry subject matter experts across multiple domains (air, space, cyber, maritime) supporting Department of Defense (DOD), and Intelligence Community (IC) customers. You will provide acquisition and program management support to complex and critical programs within USSOCOM AT&L. You will have the opportunity to leverage military and government acquisition experience as a contractor, applying defense acquisition lifecycle experiences from requirements generation to fielding and sustainment. This position is in the Tampa, FL area.

Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be a critical link between the warfighter, program offices, and industry partners, navigating the complexities of the defense acquisition system. You will be empowered to:
• Directly manage the spend plan and budget execution for major defense acquisition programs supporting AFSOC special operations. Your experience with government funding, POM, and budget cycles will be key to success.
• Oversee the procurement, modification, and sustainment of a broad range of SOF systems and equipment for platforms, such as the AC/MC-130J, CV-22, C-146, U-28, and OA-1K.
• Act as the primary liaison between AFSOC/A3TS, AFSOC/A5, multiple program offices, and defense contractors. Translate warfighter requirements into actionable acquisition strategies.
• Develop and manage the acquisition strategy and budget for a suite of programs, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the special operations community and align with DoD directives.
• Utilize your understanding of the acquisitions process to assist in congressional notifications, budgetary development, and respond to high-level taskers and Requests for Information (RFIs).
Qualifications Required:
Education:
Even better if you have these desired skills:
• USAF and/or USSOCOM acquisition experience.
• Facility Security Officer (FSO) experience, including sending/receiving visit requests and handling personnel clearances.
• AFSOC special operations equipment development, testing, and fielding experience.
• DAWIA Level II/III certification in Program Management or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• A deep understanding of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) culture and operational environment.
Clearance Requirements:
Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance, or ability to attain one.

Qualifications Required:
- Demonstrated experience in government/military acquisition, program management, or related field.
- Experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and/or Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience preparing briefings and documentation in accordance with DoD instructions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Meet DoW SkillBridge qualification requirements: DoW SkillBridge Program
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business/Program Management, or a related field. (Note: Relevant, extensive experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
