Duties

As a FINANCIAL INTERNAL CONTROL ANALYST, GS-0501-11, you will provide administrative oversight of the Quality Assurance (QA) Program. Provide technical assistance and advice to the Financial Manager (FM) and staff. Independently conduct various reviews to assess organizational performance. Manages self-inspection programs. Focal point for fraud prevention. Facilitates monthly QA meetings and prepares minutes. Reviews retrieval data provided by the local systems branch to screen for any unauthorized access level or dual access between the payable systems and the general accounting system. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.
  • Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
  • This is a Financial Management Level Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program.
  • For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
  • May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
Qualifications

Military Grades: E-4 through E-7

ANG Enlisted - AFSC 6F0X1, Financial Management and Comptroller.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities for: skill in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately, skill in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material, skill in presenting formal training presentations and briefings. ability to prepare reports and presentation formats.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : 36 months or 1-year specialized experience in work to perform, supervise, and/or manage administrative fiscal, financial management, accounting or budgetary nature. Specialized experience that provides analytical reasoning in the identification, analysis, and evaluation of financial issues and developing alternative solutions. Involves competencies in analysis, research, writing, and judgment typically gained through academic education or progressively responsible experiences. Requires knowledge and skill in the application of related laws, regulations, precedents, methods and techniques of budgeting. Competencies in self-management, resilience, teamwork, attention to details, creative thinking, integrity, honesty, and positive customer service skills. Work follows established methods and procedures; uses practical knowledge of the operations, procedures, and policies of specific program areas or functional assignment; and typically learns to do the work through specialized experiences.
