Position Overview:

Data Machines is seeking a Vice President, Strategy and Growth to serve as a senior strategic advisor to the CEO, with a primary focus on Department of Defense (DoW) market alignment, external positioning, and growth strategy.

This role is responsible for helping shape the company's strategic direction by assessing mission priorities, market developments, customer demand signals, and partnership opportunities across the DoW landscape. The individual in this role will translate market insight into actionable recommendations that strengthen company positioning and support long-term growth.

This is an advisory executive role. It does not include direct line management, P&L ownership, Mission Area leadership, or day-to-day program execution responsibility. Success in this role will come through strategic influence, sound judgment, and strong external credibility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise the CEO on DoW market strategy, mission priorities, and growth opportunities aligned to company objectives.
• Assess customer trends, mission drivers, acquisition signals, and broader market developments to inform strategic planning and investment decisions.
• Help shape business development and capture priorities by identifying focus areas with strong mission relevance and growth potential.
• Strengthen Data Machines' market positioning by refining messaging, marketing materials, and strategic narratives for priority audiences.
• Represent the company in external engagements with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
• Support the development and maturation of strategic partnerships that expand market access and align to company growth goals.
• Increase awareness of Data Machines across the defense and national security community through trusted relationships, thought leadership, and consistent market presence.
• Provide strategic guidance to help align current company efforts with priority DoW mission areas and emerging opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Senior-level experience in defense strategy, mission engagement, market development, or growth-oriented leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to advise executive leadership on strategic direction, market positioning, and growth priorities.
• Experience engaging senior customers, partners, and stakeholders across the defense ecosystem.
• Strong understanding of the Department of Defense mission environment, priorities, and market landscape.
• Excellent judgment, communication skills, and executive presence.
• Active Top Secret clearance.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Desired Qualifications:

• Established network across the DoW and broader defense and intelligence community.
• Experience supporting federal business development, capture, or strategic growth efforts.
• Prior executive or senior advisory experience within government, national security, or defense technology environments.
• Familiarity with Data Machines' core capability areas, including data analytics, DevSecOps, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing.
