We are seeking an experienced Support Systems & Tools (SS&T) Architecture and Design Lead to support operations within the Test and Development Facility (TDF) for the NISSC III program. In this role, you will work with mission-critical systems essential to homeland defense and national security priorities. This is a full-time, on-site position ideal for a technical leader who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about engineering excellence, system reliability, and high‑standards execution.

Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Serve as the single point of contact for all SS&T activities within the Test and Development Facility (TDF)
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and restore operational degradations within the TDF environment
  • Act as the primary authority for scheduling and deconflicting test events within the TDF
  • Analyze, develop, and maintain NISSC III sustainment-covered requirements in collaboration with the Government Program Office
  • Maintain requirements documentation and metadata, including traceability, within a Digital Engineering environment
  • Conduct root cause analysis, impact assessments, and propose corrective or mitigating actions to resolve technical issues within the TDF
  • Perform Technical Baseline Integrity tasks to identify, evaluate, prioritize, and mitigate risks to NISSC III system sustainment
  • Review, validate, and release configuration items—including documents and drawings—while identifying gaps or misrepresentations
  • Verify conformance to specifications, drawings, and interface control documents in alignment with configuration management standards
  • Audit system modifications, installations, hardware, software, and networks against baseline artifacts
  • Support Engineering Review Boards (ERBs) and Configuration Control Boards (CCBs); ensure timely submission of required reports
  • Assist in documenting and implementing hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and applicable government standards, including:
    • Correct markings
    • Security labels
    • Distribution statements
  • Perform additional tasks as required to support program success 


Required Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 12+ years of relevant experience; Additional experience, training, and/or certifications may substitute degree requirement.
  • US Citizen; Currently possessing an Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI upon hire.
  • Strong desire to grow and learn emerging technologies in the missile early warning domain
  • Demonstrated experience writing and editing government documentation
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated creativity, technical initiative, and resourcefulness
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and other document management, engineering, and collaboration tools
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior software and systems engineers   


Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Master’s degree in related field with 10+ years of experience
  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate and advocate discipline-related knowledge, services, and programs
  • Proven experience managing and delivering projects on time and within budget, with strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies
  • Deep understanding of software development, engineering, and networking concepts
  • Significant experience working in a TDF environment and supporting elements
  • Experience working in a Digital Engineering environment; familiarity with NoMagic CAMEO is a plus
  • Experience with NISSC or other Air Force programs

Pay Range: Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
