SAIC is seeking a highly organized and motivated Deputy Program Manager to support a critical government warfighting program based in San Diego, CA. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the onsite PM and a skilled team of engineers, assisting with key tasks such as project tracking, government property management, financial reporting, and subcontractor coordination.
The ideal candidate is self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with strong skills in knowledge management, problem-solving, and cross-functional teamwork. Qualifications
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and eighteen (18) years or more of related experience; Masters and sixteen (16) years or more experience; PhD or JD and thirteen (13) years or more experience.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to operate independently in high-pressure environments with competing priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams); familiarity with Microsoft Project or similar tools is a plus.
• Experience managing and analyzing complex project data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
• Proactive problem-solving mindset with a focus on process improvement.
• Willing to provide thoughtful advice and recommendations to the PM on strategies and improvements.
• Familiarity with government contracting (FAR/DFARS), travel policies, and GSA guidelines is a plus.
• Preferred: PMP certification or progress toward obtaining it.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
