We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer (Web Developer/Programmer) to support the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality websites and web applications. This role works closely with designers, developers, and content teams to deliver accessible, usable, and standards-compliant web solutions-particularly in support of federal government projects.

Nationwide Remote Office (US99)
We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer (Web Developer/Programmer) to support the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality websites and web applications. This role works closely with designers, developers, and content teams to deliver accessible, usable, and standards-compliant web solutions-particularly in support of federal government projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and code responsive web pages in collaboration with a cross-functional team, following established best practices.
- Implement modern front-end solutions with a strong focus on accessibility, usability, and performance.
- Consume and integrate data from APIs, XML, RSS feeds, and other syndicated content sources.
- Apply and maintain compliance with NLM procedures, federal web standards, and industry best practices.
- Ensure all web deliverables meet Section 508 and WCAG 2.x accessibility requirements.
- Support updates, enhancements, and troubleshooting for existing federal web properties.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of professional or educational experience in:
- HTML / HTML5
- CSS / CSS3
- JavaScript
- HTML / HTML5
- 1+ year of professional or educational working with APIs, XML, RSS, and similar technologies to syndicate and manage content.
- U.S. citizenship required. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust/security clearance, as required by the federal government for this role
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and its implementation in web projects.
- Understanding of federal accessibility standards, including Section 508 and WCAG 2.x.
- Working knowledge of current tools and technologies used for web mockups, design, and development.
- Experience supporting or contributing to federal government website design or development.
- Exposure to agile or team-based development environments.
- Familiarity with basic UX/UI principles and accessibility testing tools.
