Job Description
Location: Remote
Clearance Requirement: Active Secret clearance
Overview
We are seeking a strong PowerShell automation engineer to support enterprise endpoint management and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments for a large-scale Federal customer. While this role has historically focused on Intune and MECM, we are open to candidates who may not come directly from an Intune/MECM background if they demonstrate advanced PowerShell scripting, automation capability, and technical adaptability.
Engineers selected for this role will work alongside senior team members and structured internal training materials to rapidly onboard and begin contributing. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who thrive in lab environments, self‑directed learning, and automation‑first engineering.
We are highly interested in engineers who:
Are highly proficient in PowerShell and use scripting to solve real operational problems
Excel at automation, repeatability, and building engineering solutions rather than manual processes
Have demonstrated the ability to quickly learn new platforms through labs, hands‑on practice, documentation, and self‑study
Are comfortable leveraging modern tools (documentation, sandbox environments, portals, scripting frameworks, and LLMs responsibly) to prepare and upskill
Experienced PowerShell automators without deep Intune/MECM experience will be strongly considered.
Required Skills
6+ years of experience working in an enterprise IT engineering environment
Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience (this is the most critical skill)
Experience building automation to support:
Application deployment or packaging
System configuration
Endpoint or infrastructure management
Repeatable engineering workflows
Familiarity with modern endpoint management or systems tooling such as:
Intune, MECM, SCCM, or similar platforms OR demonstrated ability to learn and operate new management platforms quickly
Experience working with automation tools, scripts, or frameworks in operational environments
Ability to collaborate closely with senior engineers and rapidly absorb new technical knowledge
Active Secret clearance OR current IAT Level II certification (Security+ or higher)
Nice to Have / Desired Experience
Prior experience with Intune, MECM, or endpoint management platforms
Experience supporting virtual desktop environments (VDI) such as:
Azure Virtual Desktop
VMware Horizon
Amazon Workspaces
Exposure to CI/CD concepts, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), or automation pipelines
Knowledge of Federal IT environments or DoD programs
Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, FedRAMP, or FISMA
Core Responsibilities
Engineer, automate, and support endpoint and VDI‑related solutions using PowerShell‑first approaches
Develop and maintain scripts to support application packaging, deployment, configuration, and operational efficiencies
Collaborate with senior engineers and technical leads to learn platform‑specific tooling (Intune/MECM) as needed
Participate in documentation creation and maintenance for scripts, processes, and engineering solutions
Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort through automation and scripting
Apply security best practices to endpoint and infrastructure engineering tasks
Support the growth and scalability of an enterprise environment supporting a large Federal user base
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
Why This Role
Automation‑first engineering culture
Willingness to train strong engineers rather than require perfect tool alignment
Exposure to enterprise‑scale Federal environments
Opportunity to grow deeper into Intune/MECM, endpoint engineering, and VDI with structured support
Clearance Requirement: Active Secret clearance
