Job Description
Our client's Engineering team is seeking a Hands-On Test Engineer to support a critical precision-guided munitions initiative. This role will sit directly in the lab environment, supporting early-stage hardware development as systems move from prototype through environmental and integration testing. You will be in a highly hands-on position focused on execution, troubleshooting, and real-time problem solving—not just planning. You will work closely with test architects, engineers, and cross-functional teams to validate system performance, diagnose issues, and ensure successful test outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a lab-based engineering environment, enjoys digging into complex systems, and wants to play a direct role in advancing cutting-edge defense technology.
REQUIREMENTS:
--3+ years of experience executing integration and test activities on hardware or embedded systems, including setting up test environments, running test procedures, and validating system performance
--Using test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, DAQs, etc.) and telemetry systems to capture and monitor system behavior during testing
--Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting test data to identify performance issues, system anomalies, and root causes of failures
--Previous work supporting prototype bring-up, subsystem integration, and system-level test execution during hardware development
--Experience running Design Verification Testing (DVT) and other hardware validation testing to confirm systems meet functional, performance, and engineering requirements
--Experience executing Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) or other environmental / stress testing such as thermal, vibration, or reliability testing
--Ability to troubleshoot hardware or system-level issues during test execution, isolate failures, and drive issue resolution in a fast-paced engineering environment
--Active Secret Clearance
PLUS SKILLS:
--Experience working in Aerospace & Defense Environments
--Experience supporting early-stage development / proof-of-design testing
--Background in electrical systems, circuit card testing, or embedded systems
--Exposure to test planning or small team leadership
RESPONSIBILITIES:
--Execute integration and environmental testing on hardware systems within a lab environment
--Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions in real time
--Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to validate system performance
--Collaborate with engineers and test architects to support test planning and execution strategies
--Support build, integration, and test processes across the system lifecycle
--Document test results, findings, and technical insights for engineering teams
