Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a talented Principal Supplier Quality Analyst (SQA) or Senior Principal Supplier Quality Analyst to join our growing team of diverse professionals. This position will focus on providing supplier oversight with sub-tier contractor suppliers that are responsible for depot repairs and maintenance services on the E-6B aircraft platform. The E-6B is a U.S. Navy airborne command post and communicate relay aircraft designed to ensure survivable, endurable communication between national leadership and U.S. strategic forces.

This SQA position will interface with a variety of Manufacturing, Engineering, Global Supply Chain, Testing, Receiving Inspection, NDI, and Program Quality Engineering groups within the Command and Control & Weapons Integration (CWI) Division for the Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector.

The direct location for this position will be located at Lake Charles, Louisiana but may require travel to other NG company sites or supplier locations as required. The position will also remotely support CWI programs located in the general Huntsville Alabama location as needed. The Lake Charles site has decades of experience in aircraft refurbishment services, modification work, and skilled engineering.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Work with Lake Charles based Program and Global Supplier Chain (GSC) groups to manage key suppliers, ensuring that suppliers are performing to contractual requirements and drive process improvements while ensuring their capabilities to deliver acceptable workmanship standards to maintenance specification requirements and schedule milestone intervals are being met
  • Responsible for ensuring that supplier flow-down clauses are applied to Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders per program-based requirements
  • Assures that customer and program quality imposed technical requirements are adhered to by on-site suppliers and that program required quality management systems are maintained
  • Effectively perform supplier surveillance and audit activities designed to manage, monitor, and improve supplier effectiveness and performance
  • Establish positive working relationships with suppliers by addressing compliant issues with maintenance operations and overall supplier's quality management practices
  • Perform process and product audits along with capacity assessments to ensure that supplier's processes are robust and capable
  • Work with on-site suppliers on preventing/minimizing any business impact from supplied material defects and work to limit supplier risk mitigation issues
  • Perform and/or coordinate specification compliance reviews, first article inspections, and spot in-process inspections as required
  • Initiate Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCARs) and work with suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering personnel to identify root causes and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented
  • Lead and report on Supplier Performance Management activities by analyzing system based supplier performance data and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Proactively work to reduce and prevent supplier escape occurrences and verification of supplied maintenance services and any material defect claims
  • Perform deviation investigations into quality supplier issues that may require using a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation to ensure that robust corrective actions are implemented
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) will be necessary to support and overview site maintenance activities
  • Be able to analyze and present data and status process to all levels of leadership
  • Provide project management guidance and support on aircraft supplier related maintenance activities to support program schedules

Qualifications:

This position may be filled as a Principal Supplier Quality Analyst or Senior Principal Supplier Quality Analyst.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Supplier Quality Analyst:
  • A minimum of 9 years of relevant experience and a High School diploma or equivalent. 5 Years related experience with a Bachelors; or 3 Years related experience with a Masters; or 1 Year related experience with a PhD; May also be considered.
  • Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 audits and requirements.
  • Basic experience with SAP transactions.
  • Experience developing, collecting, and analyzing metrics.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Presentation and data packaging skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work on-site in Lake Charles. LA and support various shifts as required.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of time


Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAP expertise.
  • ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 trained auditor.
  • Experience that required an Aircraft & Power Plant (A&P) License.
  • Basic NDI experience.
  • Advanced Excel / Power Point Skills.
  • Good Understanding of specific NGDS Supplier Management Policies and Procedures.
  • Previous Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM) experience.
  • Familiar with E6B aircraft platform.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher.
  • A current Secret Clearance.


Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Supplier Quality Analyst:
  • A minimum of 11 years of relevant experience and a High School diploma or equivalent. 7 Years related experience with a Bachelors; or 3 Years related experience with a Masters; or 1 Year related experience with a PhD; May also be considered.
  • Experience developing, collecting, and analyzing metrics.
  • Advanced experience with AS9100/ISO9001 audits and requirements.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Advanced SAP usage
  • Presentation and data packaging skills'
  • Good Understanding of specific NGDS Supplier Management Policies and Procedures'
  • Basic NDI experience'
  • Ability to work on-site in Lake Charles, LA and support various shifts as required.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of time


Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAP expertise.
  • ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 certified lead auditor.
  • Current A & P License.
  • Previous NDI experience.
  • Understanding of NADCAP certified processes.
  • Advanced Excel / Power Point Skills.

  • ASQ Certified Supplier Quality Professional.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification or higher.
  • Previous Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM) experience.
  • Familiar with E6B aircraft platform.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control.
  • A current Secret Clearance.


Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
