Description:As a Aircraft Mechanic III, you will be responsible for:

• The Aircraft Mechanic III is part of the Lockheed Martin modification team at Bob Sikes Airport in Crestview, Florida, and will provide subject matter expertise with installing and modifying structural components of high complexity.
• The Aircraft Mechanic III will need to have a strong understanding of C-130 aircraft and will be responsible for all structural modification and installation efforts.
• The Aircraft Mechanic III will provide guidance and expertise to the other mechanical technicians in regard to demod, lay out, drilling, installing, inspecting, sealing, painting, reinstallations, and testing.
• The candidate will provide leadership and subject matter expert (SME) technical knowledge to the technicians to accomplish all aspects of the aircraft modification.
• The qualified applicant will coordinate with supervision to resolve any technical problems that may arise during the modification.
• The applicant must have the experience and ability to perform the following: Read/comprehend complex Mechanical drawings, troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determine technical solution in accordance with company drawings, procedures and specifications.
• The Aircraft Mechanic III will work closely with Team Leads to ensure aircraft is delivered on time and within budget.

This position is in Crestview, FL.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access and is in direct support of a U.S. government contract that requires a company-sponsored clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum Ten (10) years of sheet metal experience performing aircraft modifications.
Minimum Five (5) years of structural modification experience on C-130J platforms.
Strong aptitude to read and interpret complex aircraft mechanical drawings - Blueprints, TCTO's, Supplemental Work Instructions, Service Bulletins, Installation Drawings, ETC.
Experience with installation and removal of special fasteners and tooling.
Able to perform with demands of precise set limits, tolerances, or standards.
Ability to obtain a secret security clearance and must have an interim secret clearance prior to start so therefore all candidates must be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills:
Heavy modification/integration/repair sheet metal experience to include C-130 aircraft.
Experience as a sheet metal lead preferred.
Experience leading small teams and tracking performance to cost, schedule, and quality.
Ability to work at heights.
Ability to maintain respirator fitness qualification.
Ability to perform confined space entry.
Ability to use critical thinking skills to assist with applying lean methodologies applied to critical tasks.
Experience in completing structural modifications with precise tolerances that require laser alignment inspection.
Ability to assist engineering with supplemental work instruction-development and improvement.
Ability to communicate through Performance Management Teams - deficiencies and areas of improvement.
Ability to foster a culture of safety in every aspect of performance.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
