As a Network Engineer III, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing network infrastructure projects and ensuring the reliability and security of the corporate network. This position requires extensive experience in network engineering, some project management capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You may act as a lead on various projects and mentor junior engineers.
The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $74,581.13 - $102,549.04. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and implementation of complex network solutions, including Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Virtual Private Network (VPN)
- Analyze network traffic and performance metrics to identify and resolve bottlenecks and optimize efficiency
- Monitor and optimize system performance, addressing advanced issues
- Implement and maintain robust security measures
- Maintain ownership of change management
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for system-related issues
- Develop and maintain detailed system documentation and procedures
- Coordinate system upgrades and modifications with other IT staff
- Conduct regular system tests to ensure functionality and reliability
- Manage data handling, conversion, and storage solutions
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and IT staff
- Recommend and implement improvements to network infrastructure and processes
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Active US Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI Eligibility
Bachelor's degree in an information technology related field. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of related experience is required - 2+ years of experience in a related field. Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience
- Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux operating systems
- Strong understanding of network security protocols
- Prior experience with network administration in Windows and Linux environments
- Prior experience networking hosts in both physical and virtualized environments
- Extensive knowledge of network protocols and services [e.g., Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)]
- Advanced experience with Cisco networking equipment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with others
- Demonstrate a customer care philosophy that ensures a high level of customer satisfaction
- Proven organizational skills with attention to detail
- FAA Class III Medical Certification required. Candidates without current certification must obtain it prior to hire
- Ability to complete Altitude Chamber training and qualification
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification
- CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) or equivalent DOD 8140 IAT Level III certification
- Proficiency in the following networking functions: DNS, basic networking with switches and firewall (e.g. Cisco, PAN)
- Experience networking thin clients in a virtualized environment
- Hands-on experience with zero trust networking
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, AHV)
- Functional scripting with languages such as PowerShell, Python
- Basic functionality with Debian or Redhat Linux
- Basic functionality in the following Microsoft server solutions: Active Directory, Windows Server
- Familiarity managing Windows 11
Essential Functions:
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs regularly.
- Work primarily at a computer for extended periods.
- Frequent use of hand/finger dexterity for computer work.
- Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- The ability to participate in afterhours on-call duties.
