As a Senior Systems Engineer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will have the opportunity to do the following:
  • Experience supporting technology programs for the government, including land, maritime, and air domain systems, with formal application of systems engineering life ‑ cycle processes.
  • Extensive hands ‑ on knowledge of detection and surveillance capabilities (fixed and mobile sensor towers, remote video surveillance systems, ground sensors, radar, and thermal / EO cameras), including requirements definition, interface control, and performance verification.
  • Subject matter expertise in Unmanned Aircraft Systems, to include small UAS operations, sensor payload selection, mission planning, and integration with command and control systems, supported by system architecture development and integration planning.
  • Knowledge of Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems capabilities and CONOPS, including detection, tracking, identification, and defeat technologies aligned with government policy constraints, and experience translating these CONOPS into technical and functional requirements.
  • Direct experience supporting operational units with requirements development, system evaluations, test and evaluation events, and operational assessments for various technologies, including authoring test plans, test procedures, and evaluation reports.
  • Proven ability to analyze threat vectors and terrain to recommend optimized sensor layouts, coverage models, and technology mixes using modeling, simulation, and systems engineering trade studies.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to systems engineering artifacts such as concepts of operations, system requirements specifications, interface control documents, system architecture views, and verification and validation plans for technology systems.
  • Familiarity with acquisition and governance processes, including requirements documentation, market research, OEM/vendor engagement, and participation in technical interchange meetings and industry days, with a focus on requirements traceability and configuration management.
