Job Description
GDIT is seeking a Solutions Architect to provide technical leadership and support across enterprise architecture, solution specification, design, and innovation. You will need to possess strong knowledge of information technology and commercial solutions; and have significant experience designing and developing technical solutions in multiple disciplines, like data center, cloud, voice and network communications, technical security, AI and cyber security. You will also need to have a proven track record of proposal delivery, excellent communications skills, and a strong customer service orientation.

This role serves as the senior technical leader for a large-scale IT modernization program supporting global mission requirements. The role spans Cloud & Data Center Services, Networking & Telecommunications, and End User / Customer Support Services.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Planning and designing solutions and procedures pertaining to security applications and technology within the diplomatic security space.
- Evaluation of department countermeasures policies/procedure and make recommendations for applying technology and applications to enhance technical security.
- Planning and designing cloud platforms/applications that will enhance diplomatic security capabilities.
- Evaluation of the department's application of technology and make recommendations for modernization.
- Regularly collaborate with the department's senior executives and present technical vision that includes modernization, efficiency, and overall understanding of the department's mission.
- Planning and designing cloud platforms/applications that will enhance procedures and data collection for countermeasures programs.
- Act as technical liaison between customer technical points of contact and GDIT project staff to facilitate IT strategic planning.
- Coordinate "reach back" with technical subject matter experts (SME) within GDIT to obtain specific knowledge or expertise to address technical issues.
- Respond to technical questions and research requests from customers and programs. Perform business case analysis to support decision making process.
- Maintain technical proficiency by keeping current with the latest technologies, trends, standards, & products.

Key Responsibilities:Strategic Technical Leadership
- Establish and govern a unified enterprise architecture for cloud, network, and end-user capabilities.
- Align modernization outcomes with CIO priorities, including secure connectivity, AI-enabled operations, and technical-debt reduction.
- Lead the end-to-end design, architecture, and implementation of advanced network and telecommunication systems that encompass domain services, virtual private networks (VPNs), terrestrial and satellite data/voice networks, structured cabling, and both physical and wireless local area networks (LAN/WAN) to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and alignment with organizational objectives
- Oversee IT strategy and security compliance for critical communication infrastructures, including the development of policies and procedures, risk assessments, federal IT security compliance (e.g., FISMA), and operational continuity across global data centers, field network deployments, operations centers, and tactical command operations, while driving innovation in telecommunications and radio network solutions
- Enhance network resilience with Zero Trust approaches and observability improvements.
- Lead the strategic design, implementation, and management of FedRAMP-authorized enterprise public cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and multi-cloud strategies, ensuring robust data center operations, secure storage solutions, container lifecycle management, and alignment with overarching enterprise cloud architecture and DevSecOps methodologies
- Oversee the development and enforcement of IT security frameworks, including operationalizing Federal IT security policies, conducting risk assessments, managing assessment and authorization (A&A) activities, implementing cybersecurity engineering solutions, and ensuring compliance with Federal government mandates and accessibility requirements such as Section 508 and 504.
- Lead cloud transformation and modernization across hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
- Oversee modernization of legacy platforms and data environments.
- Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive, scalable solutions for end-user computing and support services, including centralized device management, mobile access support, and the integration of Tier 0, 1, and 2 help desk operations, with a focus on automation and multi-channel support capabilities.
- Design and enforce IT security measures and compliance frameworks to safeguard systems and data, ensuring alignment with Federal IT security requirements through risk assessments, compliance reporting, cybersecurity engineering, and user training initiatives
- Modernize enterprise service delivery using automation and AI-enabled support.
- Improve SLAs, XLAs, and global user experience.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of IT leadership experience
- Secret Clearance at minimum
- Extensive experience with Department of State, Intelligence agencies, or Department of War agencies
- Experience in enterprise modernization, solution delivery, and government IT environments
- ITIL (Foundations or higher)
- Hybrid Role, must be local to Washington DC.
- CISSP
- CCNP
- AWS, Azure, or GCP Professional certifications
