Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist provides essential operational support to the Maryland facility, working as a key partner to the HR Director. This role focuses on the seamless execution of people operations-specifically payroll, benefits and leave requests, and employee relations-while leveraging technology to drive efficiency and accuracy.
This is a supportive role designed for a candidate with approximately 3 years of experience (or a management professional transitioning into an HR-specific career) who excels at prioritizing multiple projects and responding to time-sensitive requests.

Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist provides essential operational support to the Maryland facility, working as a key partner to the HR Director. This role focuses on the seamless execution of people operations-specifically payroll, benefits and leave requests, and employee relations-while leveraging technology to drive efficiency and accuracy.
This is a supportive role designed for a candidate with approximately 3 years of experience (or a management professional transitioning into an HR-specific career) who excels at prioritizing multiple projects and responding to time-sensitive requests.
Core Responsibilities
- Payroll & Benefits Administration: Review timesheets for accuracy, including shift differentials, PTO, and holiday hours. Enter expense reimbursements and one-time payments like bonuses. Partner with the Accounting Department to process payroll; maintain strict compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and tax requirements. Manage all employees' leave requests and benefits inquiries.
- Culture & Employee Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for employee-related inquiries. Utilize high emotional intelligence (EQ) to support a positive workplace culture and assist the HR Director with disciplinary meetings, disputes, and internal investigations.
- Compliance & Training: Track and document compliance for mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This includes safety training, AS9100 training, and certifications at the facility.
- Talent Coordination: Support recruiting efforts by collaborating with departmental managers to understand required skills and competencies. Assist with local interviews and support the Talent Manager with updating ATS and attending local career fairs.
- Onboarding & Employee Engagement: Onboard new hires in HRIS, ensuring all documentation is completed on time and properly filed. Deliver new hire orientation and the administration of employee recognition programs.
- Tech & Data Management: Expertly navigate and maintain the HRIS (BambooHR) and payroll systems (Trax). Rely on ChatGPT, Microsoft Office Suite, and other digital tools to complete tasks faster and with greater accuracy.
- Operational Agility: Prioritize multiple projects and manage last-minute, time-sensitive requests. This role requires high self-direction as there are no direct reports for delegation.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Tech-Forward Mindset: Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to quickly master and optimize the organization's HRIS and payroll software.
- High Emotional Intelligence: Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; able to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and empathy.
- Organizational Mastery: Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on clarity and professional tone.
- Integrity: Absolute commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
Education and Experience
- Experience: Approximately 3 years of Human Resources experience preferred. Candidates with prior management/operations experience who have handled similar administrative and people-focused tasks and are looking to move into a dedicated HR role are encouraged to apply.
- Payroll: At least 1 year of experience processing payroll. Familiarity with BambooHR or Trax Payroll is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Or 5 years of equivalent experience.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate various departments within the Reisterstown facility.
