Job Title: Senior Cyber Systems Security Test Engineer

Location: Colorado Springs, CO (Onsite)

Clearance Required: Active DoD Secret

Certification Required: DoD 8140 IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ or higher)

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Cyber Systems Security Test Engineer to support cybersecurity validation and testing efforts within a complex, mission-critical environment. This role partners closely with cyber engineering teams to ensure security controls are properly implemented, tested, and compliant with federal standards.

You will play a key role in coordinating test activities, validating cybersecurity solutions, and supporting vulnerability management efforts across the platform.

Responsibilities

• Validate and test cybersecurity controls across systems and applications
• Coordinate and support cybersecurity test events and activities
• Review and execute test plans and test cases, providing actionable feedback
• Support vulnerability management efforts including remediation activities
• Apply and verify security configurations and compliance standards (e.g., STIGs)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within an Agile/Scrum environment
• Assist in identifying and addressing security gaps and risks
• Provide clear reporting and communication to technical and program stakeholders

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, system testing, or related field
• Active DoD Secret security clearance (required at start)
• DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+)
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and tools, including:
  • Patch management
  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA)
  • Intrusion detection and monitoring
  • Vulnerability scanning and remediation
• Experience with RMF, NIST standards, and security compliance frameworks
• Understanding of SDLC and software/system testing processes
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
