Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to support a critical DoD program for Space and Mission Systems in Boulder, CO. The customer is seeking experienced engineers to collaborate with cross-functional teams in implementing complex electrical systems for spacecrafts.

Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer:
- Provide electrical systems engineering support to technical teams for the definition, implementation, and operation of complex electrical systems, including spacecraft buses and payloads, instruments, and ground systems.
- Lead and manage electrical requirements across the lifecycle, including ownership, stakeholder coordination, derivation, allocation, verification, validation, and performance analysis to demonstrate mission effectiveness.
- Plan, prepare, document, and execute assembly, integration, test, and verification (AIT&V) activities throughout the design lifecycle.
- Support the development and flow-down of electrical subsystem, box-level, and board-level requirements for space-based and ground electronic architectures.
- Develop and maintain electrical Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for both space and ground systems.
- Perform power budget analyses and develop harness designs, grounding diagrams, EMI/EMC compliance assessments, and related analyses supporting environmental, design, and test requirements.
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines to define and refine space-based electrical architectures, including the creation of Electrical Functional Block Diagrams.
- Provide subject-matter expertise to program technical risk and opportunity assessments, including evaluation of impact and likelihood and recommendations for mitigation strategies and opportunity capture.
- Partner with mechanical and thermal engineering teams to define and refine box-level electrical requirements.
- Apply systems engineering tools and methodologies, with specific experience in MBSE and Cameo.
- Leverage detailed board-level design knowledge to provide design review authority across digital, analog, power, FPGA, and packaging domains.
Qualifications of the Electrical Engineer:
- Bachelors degree in related discipline and 3-5+ years of relevant experience
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Experience with Modeling & Simulation tools such as CAMEO, MBSE, SysML
- Full lifecycle electrical engineering experience from requirements gathering, implementation, and test
- Incorporating electrical systems information into Engineering System of Record (ICDs, IBDs, etc.)
- Requirements compliance/tracing/verification method (L5 to L2)
Compensation for the Electrical Engineer:
- Total compensation based on experience level - $140,000-$170,000 **based on degree and total years of experience**
