Job Description
FWI is building a team to grow quality Registered Apprenticeship programs through industry intermediaries by providing technical expertise, sector-based outreach, and program development services to employers across new, emerging, and in-demand industries on behalf of the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Apprenticeship. As a Project Director, you will provide overall strategic leadership and serve as the primary point of contact with the government, ensuring quality delivery of all contract obligations and project outcomes.

Work Schedule and Location:
Remote: This part-time remote position will work approximately 10 hours a week
Responsibilities
- Lead and direct a multidisciplinary project team to achieve program goals and deliver high-quality results
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Apprenticeship, building and maintaining a strong client relationship
- Set the strategic vision for the project and ensure all work aligns with contract objectives and timelines
- Own overall project quality, reviewing and approving deliverables before submission to the government
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and staffing to keep the program on track
- Represent the organization at kickoff meetings, progress reviews, and government conferences in Washington, D.C.
- Develop and maintain the project's Quality Control Plan to ensure consistent, high-standard performance
- Ensure all public-facing deliverables meet plain language, accessibility (508 compliance), and editorial standards
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, OR 10+ years of relevant experience without a degree
- Demonstrated leadership experience providing oversight and direction to a team of staff
- Experience interpreting contracts, ensuring responsiveness, and achieving successful performance; may include subject matter expertise and specific technical knowledge
- Experience establishing schedules, meeting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing progress of projects including budgets
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Able travel domestically as required
