Job Title: Senior Software Test Engineer (Cloud Systems)
Location: Fort Meade, MD
Work Model: Onsite
Job Type: Contract 12 + months (strong potential for extensions)
Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph (FS Poly)
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Test Engineer to support the testing and validation of mission critical cloud software systems in a highly secure environment. This role is ideal for a seasoned tester who enjoys owning the full testing lifecycle, collaborating closely with Agile development teams, and ensuring high quality, reliable system deliveries.
You will play a key role in validating complex applications across multiple releases, partnering with stakeholders to ensure operational readiness, and providing leadership with clear insights into system quality and risk.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for complex cloud software systems
• Lead system, integration, and performance testing activities across multiple releases in a secure environment
• Coordinate and perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with mission stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet requirements
• Document defects, monitor remediation progress, and verify fixes throughout the development lifecycle
• Collaborate with development teams, analysts, and program leadership in an Agile environment, participating in Scrum ceremonies
• Utilize Jira for test case tracking, defect management, and workflow updates, and interface with GitHub repositories for build validation
• Provide detailed test reports, risk assessments, and readiness recommendations to leadership
Requirements
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in software testing, including test planning and execution
• Demonstrated experience leading system, integration, and performance testing efforts
• Hands on expertise writing and executing test plans and test scripts for complex software systems
• Strong working knowledge of Agile methodologies and Jira for defect tracking and test management
• Experience using GitHub for version control and build validation
• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (required at time of submission; no exceptions)
• Strong technical writing skills with experience producing test documentation and reports
• Experience testing and deploying applications in cloud environments, including data driven or analytics based systems
• Experience deploying applications in cloud environments and developing data-driven analytics
