Solutions Architect

We are currently seeking a Solutions Architect to support its operations in Huntsville, AL supporting a DoD client doing an extensive and intensive system modernization and integration effort that includes software, hardware, and infrastructure cloud modernization.

The program relies on secure, resilient software and networked systems developed and sustained using Agile, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and DevSecOps practices in support of DoD modernization and fielding objectives.

• Active DoD Secret clearance.

Role and Responsibilities:
• Design and implement Azure based solution architectures supporting DoD development, integration, test, and operational environments.
• Translate DoD mission needs and system requirements into cloud, software, and systems architecture solutions.
• Develop and maintain system and solution models using MBSE tools to support requirements traceability, verification, and configuration control.
• Support requirements decomposition, interface definition, and architecture alignment across software, systems, and network components.
• Collaborate daily with software engineers, systems engineers, cybersecurity, and test teams to resolve architecture and integration issues.
• Contribute directly to Agile planning, backlog refinement, and technical implementation activities.
• Support Secure DevOps (DevSecOps) pipelines, including infrastructure as code, automated testing, and security controls.
• Prepare and deliver technical artifacts and briefings that clearly communicate complex architectural concepts to government and internal stakeholders.
• Support program reviews, technical interchange meetings (TIMs), and documentation required for DoD programs.

Required Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in solutions architecture, systems engineering, or software architecture supporting complex DoD systems.
• Strong hands on experience with Microsoft Azure, including:
o Compute, storage, networking, and identity
o Secure cloud architectures in regulated environments
• 3+ years of experience using MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw, or similar) to:
o Create architecture and system models
o Drive requirements traceability, verification, and configuration management
• 4+ years of experience interfacing with senior government customers and cross functional teams, conveying technical information to both technical and non technical audiences.
• Working knowledge of SAFe Agile development practices and DevSecOps software delivery processes.
• Experience supporting requirements driven development and system integration activities.
• Familiarity with system interfaces, distributed architectures, and networked command and control systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience supporting DoD air and missile defense or command and control systems
• Background in software intensive systems integrated with hardware or external mission systems
• Experience working on long duration, structured defense programs in Huntsville
• Familiarity with cybersecurity requirements and secure system design in DoD environments
