This position is being filled under DoD Modified Direct Hire Authority, PL 118-31, Sec 1250B(i)(2), 12/22/2023
As a IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) at the GG-2210-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Develops and coordinates recommendations, plans, policy, and doctrine to support the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) and Combatant Command (CCMD) requirements for cyber survivability of new weapon systems.
  • Provides weapon systems cyber survivability, DoD Cybersecurity, cyber operational resilience, and RMF subject matter expertise to minimize/prevent cyber vulnerabilities in weapon systems and the critical infrastructure supporting them with the greatest CCMD mission risk.
  • Plans, coordinates, and evaluates complex long-range studies and develops recommendations.
  • Coordinates assessments cybersecurity attributes with system owners of new weapon systems and key stakeholders to ensure the system has the ability to prevent the most likely and greatest risk from cyber threats; detecting and responding to cyber events with sufficient resiliency to complete the mission; and adapting to changes in adversary threat to actively manage the system configuration to achieve and maintain an operationally relevant Cyber Survivability Risk Posture (CSRP).
  • Develops and coordinates recommendations, plans, policy, and doctrine to support the CJCS and CCMD requirements for a fully integrated portfolio of enterprise cybersecurity and cyber operational resilience capabilities.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GG-15 , if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/GG-14 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
  • Applies IT theories, principles, concepts, standards, and practices sufficient to ensuring cyber survivability (cybersecurity and cyber operational resilience) through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of cyber survivability (cybersecurity and cyber operational resilience) programs, policies, and procedures;
  • Applies the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and the Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and assessments;
  • Develops recommendations, and provide guidance in strategy, C4/Cyber, and Joint Force structure, as well as the ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate complex long-range studies and develop recommendations;
  • Conducts complex analysis including threats from cyber actors against potential vulnerabilities, identify and propose solutions to management problems which are often characterized by their breadth, importance, and/or critical nature; complex information systems that have a high impact on information assurance and security operations DoD-wide and expert knowledge of the missions, functions, and organizations of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the DoD components, and major organizational components.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210 series.Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

  • Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
