Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector with advanced knowledge of political-military affairs of the People's Republic of China, politics, and foreign policy. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Analyzing complex information, identifying key issues, and providing concise and actionable recommendations; 2) Developing materials such information papers, talking points and analyses for senior leads as it relates to current operations and strategies; 3) Demonstrating and applying knowledge of public issues, program operations, goals, management principles and practices, administrative laws, policies, regulations and precedents; 4) Offering solutions for novel or obscure issues not susceptible to typical methodology to positively impact the U.S. in the Indo-Pacific Region; 5) Advising on policy matters related to political-military affairs.

In addition to the required experience above: A minimum of 3 years of experience as staff officer to senior leadership such as Joint Staff/Office of the Secretary of Defense/Combatant Command(4-star)/Service (4-star) staff officer, is highly desirable.
An advanced degree (master's or higher) in Public Policy, International Relations or related fields or equivalent expertise is highly desirable.
Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.

- You will receive special assignments for reports, to attend conferences and contribute to content and framing of theatre policy positions.
- You will support senior level civilian personnel and military personnel for staff trips to China.
- You will prepare staff for distinguished visitors, Congressional delegations, and senior personnel traveling to the Indo-Pacific.
- You will participate in strategic planning and policy development in a government/military context.
- You will develop and provide briefings, read ahead materials, information papers, talking points and analyses for senior leadership.
