What You'll Do:
As the Instructional Systems Designer (ISD), you will support F-35 TACAIR courseware development at MCAS Yuma, AZ. In your role, you will apply established instructional design methodologies to develop, enhance, and sustain both e-learning and instructor-led training products in support of advanced tactical aviation training. This role directly supports the warfighter by ensuring high-quality, effective, and mission-relevant training solutions aligned with evolving operational requirements.

What You'll Do:
As the Instructional Systems Designer (ISD), you will support F-35 TACAIR courseware development at MCAS Yuma, AZ. In your role, you will apply established instructional design methodologies to develop, enhance, and sustain both e-learning and instructor-led training products in support of advanced tactical aviation training. This role directly supports the warfighter by ensuring high-quality, effective, and mission-relevant training solutions aligned with evolving operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop instructional materials and products for technology-based and traditional courses.
- Work with a team to design and produce stand-alone, instructor-led, and online instructional content.
- Assist with the creation of master course documentation, ensuring compliance with accreditation and certification requirements.
- Define instructional, learning, and performance objectives aligned with mission needs.
- Develop lesson plans, student/instructor guides, handouts, and evaluation materials.
- Edit and refine instructional content including courseware, simulation exercises, and training documentation.
- Provide analytical support for curriculum development, learning strategies, and courseware standards.
- Recommend instructional methods and delivery approaches based on learner characteristics and mission requirements.
- Assess instructional effectiveness and recommend improvements to curriculum and delivery methods.
- Provide technical guidance on instructional technologies, including CBT, multimedia, simulation, and distance learning tools.
- Support integration of instructional technology into training environments and instructor delivery.
Requirements
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Factors, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated experience applying Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodologies (e.g., ADDIE).
- Experience developing courseware for military or aviation training environments (TACAIR preferred).
- Strong ability to develop both e-learning and instructor-led training content.
- Experience with curriculum development, training analysis, and evaluation techniques.
- Experience supporting F-35 or tactical aviation (TACAIR) training programs, preferred.
- Familiarity with MAWTS-1 operations and training environment.
- Experience with simulation-based training systems and mission rehearsal tools is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, specifically PowerPoint, is required.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning development tools.
- Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships across teams and with external partners.
- Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
- Proactive, self-directed work style with the ability to operate independently.
- Analytical thinker with proven problem-solving capabilities.
- Highly organized, with the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Security Clearance Requirement:
- This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
