The GPS Control Segment Sustainment II (GCS II) team is solving challenges in supporting our customer's mission of delivering and sustaining reliable GPS capabilities to America's warfighters, allies and civil users; and we're looking for motivated self-driven leaders to join us.
This position supports the GCS II program in Colorado Springs. You will fill the role of engineering manager and provide direction and technical guidance to a team of approximately 20 engineers located at the Wooten campus.
You will be responsible for the following technical tasks:
• Responsible for daily operation of a multidisciplined team of HW engineers, SW developers, Systems Engineers, Integrators, and Testers as described below:
• Assist in directing maintenance of current ground control system products and systems at production and deployment sites
• Assist in directing development efforts for capability additions to products and systems at production and deployment sites
• Assign personnel to Projects through a Resource Allocation Board
• Responsible for working with facility personnel to allocate space for personnel.
• Responsible for ensuring personnel get training, accesses, and resources necessary to perform their job duties.
• Work with the GCS II EPM to ensure the team assigned tasks are successfully completed.
You will be responsible for the following leadership tasks:
• Administration of personnel including efficient allocation of resources and resource dynamics (adds, losses, training).
You will also be responsible for:
• Coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
• Requesting support from higher level stakeholders in the areas of resource growth or reduction and resolution of Customer issues. The candidate will request support on issues that affect the safety, morale, and smooth operation of the workplace.
• Making daily decisions on resource tasking and organization reporting. The candidate will report weekly and monthly to senior stakeholders on accomplishments, issues, and resolutions. You will develop resource tasks and strategies. These decisions and recommendations will be made with minimal management oversight.
• Managing and assess the morale of their team. The individual will interpret Lockheed Martin Organization policies, processes and procedures as well as GCS II processes.
Basic Qualifications:
• Prior formal leadership experience
• Prior experience with satellite ground control systems
• Recent proposal development experience
• US Citizenship Required. Active Secret Clearance Required to Start.
Desired Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to forecast and manage program staffing
• Understanding of Development and Firm Fix Price contract implementation
• Top Secret clearance
• Ability to work in a team-oriented setting and independently as required, to achieve goals and targets in an exciting schedule driven environment

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
