Positions Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with an active Full Scope Polygraph to support mission critical development efforts at NSA in Fort Meade, Maryland. The ideal candidate has extensive experience developing secure software solutions, working with high level programming languages, creating RESTful services, and building on Unix/Linux platforms within Agile environments.
Job Responsibilities:
Design and develop secure, mission critical software applications.
Develop and maintain applications using high level programming languages such as Java, C, and C++.
Build and support RESTful services and distributed system components.
Develop, test, and troubleshoot applications on Unix/Linux environments.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate closely with cross functional engineering teams.
Use Jira to manage development tasks, track progress, and maintain project transparency.
Use GitHub for version control, code reviews, and branch management.
Contribute to architectural design discussions, provide code reviews, and ensure best practice development standards.
Job Required Qualifications:
14 or more years of professional software engineering experience.
At least 3 years developing for Unix/Linux environments.
At least 3 years developing RESTful services.
At least 4 years developing with high level programming languages such as Java, C, or C++.
Experience working within Agile and Scrum environments.
Experience with Jira for Agile workflow management.
Experience using GitHub for version control and team collaboration.
Active Full Scope Polygraph.
Job Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing in secure or classified environments.
Familiarity with microservices, containerization, or distributed systems.
Experience with automated testing, CI/CD tools, or performance optimization.
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
