Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions supporting enterprise and mission-critical systems. This role involves working across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system design, development, testing, and deployment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in modern software development practices, cloud based environments, and system integration. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver highquality, secure, and efficient solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications and services.
• Translate user requirements into technical solutions and system designs.
• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and front-end components as needed.
• Support integration of software systems across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using modern programming languages.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Implement automation and CI/CD pipelines to support software delivery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and system issues.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver solutions.
• Contribute to system documentation, technical designs, and process improvements.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
• 8+ years of experience in software development or engineering.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C++.
• Experience with web technologies and frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Node.js).
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with databases (relational and/or NoSQL such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Education Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Equivalent work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
• Experience with automation and scripting.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in software development.
Preferred Certifications
• AWS / Azure / Google Cloud certifications
• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
• Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP)
